Simon Cowell to ‘offer Mel B £2 million contract’ to continue judging on America’s Got Talent
Simon Cowell is reportedly set to offer Mel B a contract worth almost £2 million to continue as a judge on America’s Got Talent.
Following claims Mel is in financial troubles amid her divorce battle from husband Stephen Belafonte, Simon is seemingly set to offer the former Spice Girl a life-line by offering another year as judge on the talent show.
Speaking to the Sunday People, Simon confirmed the judging line-up will stay the same, saying: ‘It’s been amazing with Mel. I’ll be honest she can be a pain but she has a good heart.
‘With this panel I wouldn’t change anything and I won’t be changing anything.’
Mel is reportedly expected to earn £1.8 million from the new contract, which will certainly help pay the bills.
She’s currently entangled in a court battle with Stephen Belafonte, with Mel recently being accused of intimidating a witness.
Mel, 42, has accused Belafonte of domestic abuse throughout their 10-year marriage, while she has also accused him of having an affair with their nanny Lorraine Gilles and getting her pregnant. Belafonte denies these claims.
However, a judge in LA has refused a request by the former Spice Girl to seal all records in her divorce as the singer voiced concerns that her estranged husband may air their private sex tapes as evidence.
She reportedly feared her children would find out about the tapes, but a judge ruled it not a sufficient reason.
